There are many many better time travel books that put this to shame and it was a relief to delete it from my Kindle. I have loved this book since I first read it as a kid back in the early '70s. A sequel, From Time to Time (1995), was published during the final year of the author's life.

I loved this book. But he is neither a complex and interesting original nor a heavy-handed archetype.
