You can use Life360 to make an IFTTT applet that will arm blink when everyone in your Life360 circle leaves home, or disarm Blink when the first person in your circle arrives. Thus my question is, is there a better way to do this with or without Life360 and/or IFTTT. Though Blink has decided to charge for geofencing (the ability to automatically ask the camera to arm and disarm based on your presence), they have left us with three new freemium features. Not sure how you went on with other methods, but I reviewed my applet logs on IFTTT, and I discovered that the arrive and disarm one ran a couple of minutes after I arrived, but by that time I’d already manually disabled, because I got notification of recordings of my arrival, so the applet disarm would have had no effect by then. The details will depend on whether you’re using android or iOS. This could be why Geofencing thinks you are away. The default android location service does not update nor work for me. Asking Alexa to arm or disarm Blink and inquiring about the last recorded clips is a lot nicer than having to open the Blink app. Good products are a result of patience and many incremental improvements. yes, you may need to run the app in the background and not shut it down.
